Obtaining cellular telephone service can be somewhat challenging for incoming students.  As a standard rule, cell phone service providers require the use of a U.S. credit card to begin service.  The majority of international students do not have a U.S. credit card when they arrive.  However, many cellular phone service companies will initiate service when the student supplies a cash deposit to the company.
